Texas Tech coach Billy Gillispie saw the offense he hopes to create long term in Lubbock during Wednesday’s game against Kansas. He saw post players muscling for position and demanding the ball inside. He witnessed quick ball reversals lead to crisp passes into those post players. He watched strong moves to the rim and convincing finishes. The only problem is that most of that offensive artwork was produced by the Jayhawks, who steamrolled the Red Raiders inside on the way to an 81-46 rout.

Tech’s Minnis plays well DeShon “Biggie” Minnis played perhaps his best game of the season in Saturday’s 73-60 loss to Baylor, providing a spark during his season-high 31 minutes. Minnis recorded seven points — his most since a 12-point performance against Troy in the season opener — and dished out five assists to tie a season-high. He was also strong on defense, notching two steals while forcing Baylor into at least two turnovers with hustle plays.
