The 6-foot-10 sophomore from the Bronx, New York, averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game in his four appearances this season.

Smith said in a press release: “Isaiah has a lot of potential that we were hoping to help him reach. Unfortunately, he has decided to leave Texas Tech. We wish him well in his future endeavors.”
Texas Tech’s 4-1 start to the 2015-16 season is more impressive than one might think.
In ESPN’s Daily RPI, Texas Tech is third in the country.
According to the RPI listed on NCAA.com, Texas Tech is ninth.
The Red Raiders’ lone loss came to then No. 16 Utah in Puerto Rico by 10 points.
Tech’s most recent win was against a Hawaii team who hadn’t lost a game before facing the Red Raiders.
Texas Tech had to find a way to win Saturday afternoon in the United Supermarkets Arena.
Hawaii took an early 11-point lead and kept fighting back late in the second half, but a defensive switch and some much needed offensive efficiency helped the Red Raiders capture an 82-74 victory.
“We’re finding ways to win,” Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith said. “We’re doing the little things you have to do to win. I think this team has matured, and that’s why we were able to pull out a game like this.”

Friday afternoon, Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith announced that sophomore forward Isaiah Manderson won’t be available to play Saturday afternoon against Hawaii.

The Red Raiders trailed Utah by five in the first round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
After Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith drew up what he wanted to do, Justin Gray inbounded the ball to Toddrick Gotcher who dribbled at the top of the key until 11 seconds remained.
Then, Zach Smith ran up from the elbow to the top of the key to catch a pass from Gotcher before quickly handing it off to Devaugntah Williams.
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico — Texas Tech coach Tubby Smith didn’t want to make a big deal out of facing his former Minnesota program.
Turns out, the veteran coach did feel a little extra emotion about it after all.
Devaugntah Williams scored 21 points to help Texas Tech beat Minnesota 81-68 in Sunday’s fifth-place game at the Puerto Rico Tipoff, giving Smith a win against the program he led for six seasons.
