Three weeks after league play began, Texas Tech gets its first conference win of the season. Against the No. 1 team in the Big 12 and No. 9 team in the country in Iowa State.
In the aftermath of Texas Tech’s first win over a top-10 team in six years, junior guard Devaugntah Williams thought he was going to be trampled.
“I was low-key scared,” Williams said. “It was a good feeling. I know it’s something I want to get used to.”
Red Raider fans rushed the court after the final buzzer sounded as Texas Tech knocked off No. 9 Iowa State 78-73 Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena.
Williams finished with a career-high 22 points as the Red Raiders finally got things going on the offensive end.
