Jessica Fuston’s overtime goal gave the Texas Tech women’s soccer team a 3-2 win over visiting Texas Sunday night at the John Walker Complex on a night Fuston’s teammate Taylor Lytle had a record-setting evening.
Tech is now 3-2-1 in the Big 12 and 10-5-2 overall.
Tech outshot the Longhorns 24-15 and led 2-1 late in the game when Casey McCall scored at the 82:37 mark.
She was assisted by Lytle, which made her the all-time assists leader at Tech with 27, passing Kristy Frentz, who had 26 career assists.
Texas scored a little more than four minutes later to force overtime.
Tech opened the scoring in the first half, when Jessica Disabella scored an unassisted goal.
Texas tied the game early in the second half.
Tech’s next game is Friday at Iowa State.
