Tech standout
to play in Italy
Former Texas Tech softball player Emily Bledsoe signed a contract to play professionally in Italy, Tech announced Wednesday afternoon.
Bledsoe played for the Red Raiders from 2009-2012, ending her career as a career .317 hitter and setting program records for runs scored, RBIs and doubles.
The Fulshear native will play shortstop for Des Caserta — based out of Caserta, Italy — in the Italian Softball League.
The season lasts from March to September.
Bledsoe was named to the All-Big 12 Conference Second Team three times.
