MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Candi Whitaker leaned back in her chair and stared at the ceiling of the West Virginia University Coliseum on Saturday night.
The Texas Tech women’s basketball coach had just watched her team commit a turnover that led to a West Virginia fast-break layup. Whitaker’s Lady Raiders trailed by 20 points, 49-29, late in the third quarter.
The frustration level was boiling over.
It was that kind of night for Tech (9-6), which fell to 0-4 in the Big 12 Conference with a 79-57 loss before a crowd of 2,471.
