LAS VEGAS — The Texas Tech softball team picked up a pair of wins Friday at the Desert Classic, downing Ohio State, 7-4, and shutting out Long Beach State, 2-0.
The Red Raiders scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning against the Buckeyes to snap a four-game losing streak.
Mikey Kenney was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Holley Gentsch was 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Raven Richardson hit a solo home run in the fifth.
Cara Custer tossed a complete game shutout against Long Beach State. She gave up seven hits and walked two batters.
