Tech Hall of Famemember Wilson dies
Elmer Wilson, a two-sport letterman at Texas Tech and a 1992 inductee into the Tech Athletic Hall of Fame, died Saturday in his hometown of Pampa. He was 82.
Wilson, a halfback, lettered for the Red Raiders in football from 1951-54, playing in the Sun Bowl after the 1951 season and the Gator Bowl after the 1953 season. He then lettered in baseball in 1954-55.
He coached at Meadow from 1955-56 before returning to Pampa, where he owned Windsor Well Service from 1956 until he retired in 1994.
