In the wake of the NCAA's giving Delvon Simmons clearance to play for Texas Tech, I dug up Tech coach Tommy Tuberville's assessment of Simmons back in April. "I don't think there's any doubt Delvon is a pass rusher, plus he can play the run," Tuberville said. "He's both. You won't have to substitute him. He'll be able to play end. He'll be able to play tackle. We're looking for him to play a 3-technique (weak side defensive tackle). "It probably worked out best for us, too, because he's a better four-man front guy than he is a three-man front. He's not a noseguard."
