Linehan: Big 12 silence makes it seem unlikely conference can remain intact   01/13/11 - 10:36pm

There's an over-invoked analogy about an ostrich with its head buried in the sand. It began with an old wives' tale that ostriches, when feeling vulnerable or under attack, would rather burrow futilely into the earth than run or fight back. Big 12: Source says deadline decision for Missouri is June 17   01/13/11 - 10:36pm

ST. LOUIS — Lending clout to what a well-placed college athletics administrator believes could be "kind of a showdown" week in the otherwise relentless rumor mill of expansion chatter, another source familiar with the matter said Tuesday that the Big 12 Conference has given Missouri until June 17 to declare its loyalty and intention to stay in the conference.
