Pair of Tech athletes get scholarships   01/13/11 - 10:37pm

Texas Tech’s Amanda Alley and Christian Rojmar were two of 24 Big 12 Conference student-athletes selected to receive 2009-10 Dr. Prentice Gautt Postgraduate Scholarships, the conference announced. Alley, a senior from Crosbyton, is a pole vaulter on the women’s track and field team, and Rojmar formerly competed on the men’s tennis team. The scholarships are named in honor of the late Gautt, a former Big 12 staff member and student services pioneer who passed away in March 2005. The list of recipients has grown to 249 since the league’s inception in 1996.
