Swedish sophomore gets first career victory
SAN ANTONIO — Hannes Ronneblad birdied the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to win his first career title Tuesday at the Lone Star Invitational.
The Red Raiders won UT-San Antonio’s 16-team tournament by 11 shots over runner-up Southeastern Louisiana.
Ronneblad and UTSA’s Zander Lozano went to the playoff after each finished 54 holes at 9 under par.
Both parred the par-4 No. 18 to begin the playoff, which then moved to the par-4 No. 10, where Ronneblad birdied and Lozano bogeyed.
Ronneblad, a sophomore from Sweden, closed with a 7-under 65.
