The Texas Tech football team picked up its 18th commitment for 2013 on Wednesday night from Rodriguez Moore, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back from East Mississippi Community College.
“Yeah, he committed to Texas Tech,” EMCC head coach Buddy Stephens said.
Oral commitments are non-binding. The first day a recruit can sign a national letter of intent is Feb. 6.
Moore visited Texas Tech during the West Virginia game earlier this season.
“It was a great time,” Moore said earlier this month. “All the coaches welcomed me in there. I felt good there, with the coaching staff and the players also.”
Moore, from Bastrop, La., ran for more than 1,300 yards last year and added over 800 receiving yards.
“He can run with power and finesse,” Stephens said. “He’s real quick and real shifty.”
Moore joins Rowlett’s Jalen Rhodes as the running backs for the 2013 class for Tech.
