AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Some Texas shoppers got a bit ugly over the limited holiday release of new Air Jordan sneakers.
Police were called to a Round Rock outlet mall Thursday in response to unruly shoppers lined up to buy "Cool Grey" Nike Air Jordan 11 Retro sneakers.
The shoes went on sale for about $175 a pair at several stores Thursday morning. Shoppers began lining up the night before.
Round Rock police spokesman Eric Poteet told the Austin-American Statesman that some shoppers in a crowd of about 100 waiting to enter Robert Wayne Footwear got mad and disruptive when workers did not let them all into the store at once.
Poteet says authorities detained several of the "instigators of discourtesy and uncivil acts" but there were no arrests or injuries.

Come on people, these are shoes. You are going to get unruly over a pair of shoes. They will be there available for some time to come. And they cost a rediculous $175. I would be fighting to not have to buy them.
You can. . .
You can take the shoes out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the shoes. . .
poor jamaicabeach
I don't read in the story anywhere that these were people from the ghetto. But if racial slurs make you feel better on christmas eve, then i feel sorry for you
heres a "when i was a kid" story.
When i was a kid, we took turns wearing the family shoes, I think i was in 6th grade when i finally got my own exclusive pair. Summers were hot on the feet, winters were cold, rocks hurt like hell and thank goodness the other kids finally ran out of jokes. If a pair of shoes has to define the kind of person that you are, then im one tough ugly mother******!!! Instead of buying 600.00 dollars worth of shoes for the family, why not use that money for paying bills that are more of a priority, like old credit cards or old utility bills. Those people would like their money too......so THEY can go and get 175.00 dollar shoes.
