FORT WORTH (AP) — Some unusual items are up for grabs at one North Texas law enforcement agency’s auction.
A cow and a one-eyed horse were being auctioned off Sunday by the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office.
That’s in addition to cars, flat-screen televisions and jewelry that the department has confiscated.
Chief Deputy Jay Six says the one-eyed stallion is a stray that the department picked up in March.
He says the 20-year-old horse is sweet and isn’t sick, so euthanizing it isn’t an option.
The Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that livestock are normally sold online or auctioned separately from cars.
But county purchasing agent Jack Beacham says the department wanted to try something different this year.
